This ride is one of our most favorite beginner/easy rides. The ascent is gradual and mostly buffed out. However, the decent does have some large rocky sections, but they are few and far between. Park at the Yellow Pine Trailhead (NOT Yellow Pine Campground). Start straight north towards the farming fences. The bridge on the right is where you will return.
Suggested direction is clockwise, which is super fun and definitely the way to go, but you could go the other way with no problems. Cross through the farm gates and start up the 2 track until you get to the yellow sign telling you to go left for MTB. Then the climb is super gradual. The downhill starts with a quick cross over Slate Creek and never stops until you reach the parking lot again.
